The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has partnered with the health sector to provide vital health education teams at airports for Hajj pilgrims. These teams will provide guidance and essential precautions to be taken before, during and after the pilgrimage, promoting a healthy and safe experience for all. The campaign, Safe Healthy Hajj, has been launched in conjunction with the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, and the Dubai Health Authority. MoHAP’s teams have received the necessary resources to ensure that pilgrims are adequately equipped to undertake a healthy and safe Hajj.
The initiative seeks to provide pilgrims with vaccines and health screenings to guard them against any infections or illnesses, such as blood pressure tests and diabetes screening. MoHAP’s team will also provide preventive measures, such as maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet and avoiding heat exhaustion and physical exertion that can result in health complications. Additionally, the team will maintain ongoing communication with the medical teams accompanying the Hajj groups to provide them with support and medical consultations.
MoHAP’s efforts are aimed at providing comprehensive health and awareness services to enable pilgrims to complete their Hajj rituals safely and optimally. The Ministry’s health education teams will accompany Hajj convoys prior to their departure, advocating for the importance of maintaining good health and hygiene practices throughout the journey. Furthermore, the teams will support individuals with chronic ailments, pregnant women, and the elderly, emphasizing care for these especially vulnerable groups of pilgrims.
The MoHAP’s Health Education teams and their health campaigns are fundamental to ensuring a healthy and safe Hajj experience for all pilgrims. These initiatives are designed to provide comprehensive health services that promote healthy practices throughout the journey and minimize the risks of infections or health complications. The health teams will continue to offer vital resources to Hajj pilgrims, enabling them to undertake their religious pilgrimage by prioritizing their health.
