Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Media, Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari, visited the Press Operation Room at this year’s Hajj season to oversee the Ministry’s services for media persons covering the annual pilgrimage. The Operation Room, staffed by 50 government agencies, operates 24/7 to facilitate coverage of the pilgrimage. The Minister was briefed on the Room’s services and work mechanisms, and checked on the progress of the Virtual Press Center (VPC), which provides media services and press materials to over 1100 local and international reporters. The VPC has made over 1500 press materials available to journalists and will be airing Hajj press conferences in five languages for three days starting on Monday.

The Minister also visited the Ministry’s headquarters at Arafat and Mina site and checked on their preparedness and services. He toured the Ministry’s media center allocated for international journalists inside its headquarters, where he met with several journalists covering the pilgrimage.

Minister Al-Dosari expressed gratitude to those participating in covering the Hajj season, stressing the importance of highlighting the Kingdom’s efforts and the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince in serving pilgrims and facilitating their journey.

The Ministry’s efforts in facilitating media coverage of the Hajj and providing access to press materials have significantly expanded coverage of the pilgrimage across various media outlets worldwide. Hajj is considered one of the world’s most significant religious events and attracts millions of Muslims from around the globe to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia every year. The Ministry aims to provide accurate and up-to-date information about the pilgrimage to the media and the public both nationally and internationally.
