Mumbai commuters faced delays on Monday morning when a goods train bound for Badlapur and Mumbai CST stations became stalled between Badlapur and Ambernath sections due to a technical glitch. This caused inconvenience for movement of local suburban and mail express trains on the Up line for over an hour.
The section between Karjat and Badlapur stations was affected by the incident, causing disruptions and delays. Central Railway officials explained that the goods train stalled at 8.40 am, which resulted in UP suburban local trains and UP mail express traffic being affected. An assisting engine was sent to clear the stalled goods train, and the section was finally cleared after more than an hour of delays.
Central Railway tweeted, Stalling means that the engine is unable to pull the goods train due to some technical problem. Another relief engine already departed from Kalyan for Badlapur. The goods train and the relief engine finally departed at 10.00 am, and detained trains behind will soon depart. The Central Railway has expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to passengers.
Although the stalled engine has been resolved, the delays caused by the incident may have a ripple effect on the train schedule throughout the day. Central Railway officials have advised passengers to check their train schedules and prepare for possible delays.
Such incidents and delays are not uncommon, and the railway authorities always try to resolve them as soon as possible. However, such incidents can still cause inconvenience and frustration for passengers. Therefore, it is important for railway authorities to take precautions and measures to minimize such disruptions and ensure safe and timely travel for commuters.
The authorities must take steps to improve the infrastructure and technology used in the railway network and invest in maintenance to prevent such incidents in the future. Nonetheless, it is reassuring to know that steps were taken swiftly to resolve this incident. It is always better to prioritize safety and take measures to avoid any mishaps, especially with public transportation, which is a major form of travel for many in Mumbai.
