Dozens of passengers on a Singapore Airlines flight from London were injured during severe turbulence, with over 20 individuals now being treated for spinal injuries, according to a Bangkok hospital. The incident, which occurred at 37,000 feet, led to a sharp drop followed by multiple ascents and descents, causing chaos inside the aircraft. Many passengers were left with spine, brain, and other serious injuries, with 17 already undergoing surgeries to address their conditions.
Among the passengers affected, a British man tragically passed away due to an existing heart condition. Despite the emergency landing in Bangkok and the subsequent medical attention, the extent of the physical damage caused by the turbulence was evident, with images showing broken overhead compartments and dangling oxygen masks. Additional flights were arranged to transport the remaining passengers to their destination, with investigations ongoing to determine the exact cause of the unexpected turbulence.
