Silambarasan, who joined the cast recently in the upcoming entertainer, received a warm welcome from the team on social media.
Popular Tamil actor Silambarasan replaced Dulquer Salmaan in the upcoming entertainer Thug Life, which marks the reunion of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after over three decades. The superstar and the filmmaker have already kicked off shooting the ambitious magnum opus and they are also joined by the Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa actor in the schedule. And on Wednesday, the duo along with the rest of the team officially announced him as ‘one of the thugs’ from the film.
Earlier this week, Kamal Haasan and his production house Raaj Kamal Films International had piqued the interest of netizens by sharing that they would be making a major announcement on May 8. Staying true to their word, they took to the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a new poster of Thug Life, featuring Silambarasan in an action-packed avatar holding a gun, and captioned it saying,

Along with the note, they also shared a link of the teaser which features Silambarasan racing it out with other cars and firing guns amid sand dunes. The intriguing adrenaline-pumping teaser has definitely got action fans excited.
Apart from Silambarasan, the film will also star Trisha Krishnan as one of the leading ladies along with other actors in supporting roles. It is also being said that Hindi actors Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal have been approached for key roles in the movie but there has been no official confirmation on the same.
Speaking of the rest of the crew for Thug Life, with music composed by AR Rahman, the stunts are choreographed by Anbariv. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film will have Ravi K. Chandran as their Director of Photography, and Sreekar Prasad as their editor.
