BJP MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal from Ladakh constituency has requested the intervention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to address the grievances raised by traders in Anantnag District. The Vyapari Sammelan was held to help local fruit growers, business communities, and traders by resolving the challenges they face.
The MP’s letter to the LG lists several issues raised during the Vyapari Sammelan. Among them are permission for hoteliers in Pahalgam to repair and extend leases, improved sewage and water facilities, waste disposal systems, and tourism policies that prioritize environmental sustainability.
Additionally, fruit growers requested exemption from KCC loan interest and improvements in transportation for cherries with their limited shelf life. Private schools across Kashmir also requested simpler procedures for new registrations and renewals, while private hospital operators asked for reliable electricity supply and efficient biomedical waste management systems.
Garbage clearance near industrial areas, transparent scrutiny of land allotments, participation in decision-making processes, completion of the public parking building, and unblocking the Kazigund-Shopian Road were other issues raised. The centralization of district administration offices in the district headquarters and assistance for locals to gain easy access were also among the many concerns raised during the Sammelan.
In his letter to Manoj Sinha, Namgyal requested intervention and necessary directions to resolve the issues promptly. He also hoped for a positive response for the betterment of Anantnag District. An action taken report from the relevant officials would be highly appreciated, he added.
The MP’s efforts will hope to bring relief and support to locals and businesses by addressing their day-to-day challenges. His requests to the LG to intervene, are a positive step towards resolving the issues faced by the people of Anantnag. The locals remain hopeful, the authorities will take necessary steps to resolve the matters at the earliest possible time.
