The project, internally code-named ACDC- Apple Chips in Data Centers, is part of the company’s strategy to reduce reliance on other chip developers like Intel. Apple has seen success in designing its own chips for iPhones and devices, leading to improved performance and battery life.
With the development of AI-focused chips, Apple aims to incorporate artificial intelligence into its product line-up amidst competition from other tech giants. Earlier plans for an electric vehicle have reportedly been scrapped in favor of focusing on AI development.
The move by Apple to design chips for data centers indicates a shift towards enhancing AI capabilities in its devices. This development highlights the tech company’s commitment to staying competitive in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
