General Pande emphasized the vital role these powers played in signing contracts worth Rs 18,000 crore, leading to the adoption of advanced equipment along the border. The seminar, organized by the Centre for Land Warfare Studies, focused on the theme Year of Technology Absorption – Empowering the Soldier. General Pande underscored the importance of technologies like Artificial Intelligence, cyber, big data analytics, and electronic warfare in enhancing the force’s capabilities. Notable procurements towards improving mobility and protection include Light Strike Vehicle, Light Specialist Vehicles, Bullet Proof Jackets, Border Surveillance Systems, Nano Drones, Swarm Drones, Loiter Munitions, and new Artillery platforms. Emphasizing the Indian Army’s concerted efforts towards self-reliance, General Pande showcased the ongoing initiatives aimed at building a tech-enabled and future-ready force to align with the nation’s aspirations.
