Telangana Congress President A. Revanth Reddy has alleged that Minister for Municipal Administration K. T. Rama Rao went to New Delhi to seek the Home Minister’s intervention to reduce the IT raids on businesses allegedly linked to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s family members. Reddy claimed that the IT department had uncovered significant illegal assets of Mr. Rama Rao and the companies where his family has interests. He also questioned why the Central government had not investigated Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao’s illegal assets.
Speaking to leaders and workers of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the BJP from the Maheshwaram constituency, Reddy said that Rama Rao had realized that the BRS was already going to lose in the upcoming Assembly elections and was now trying to please the Central government to save their companies. He also accused BJP leaders and the BRS of having a Fevicol bond and warned them that nobody in New Delhi would listen to them.
Reddy invited BJP leaders to join the Congress, which he says is most likely to return to power because of the failures of the KCR government and the positive work done by previous governments. He also urged BJP leaders to recognize the strong bond between the BJP and Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao. Additionally, he pointed out that AAP leaders from Delhi were jailed merely for a couple of hundred crores, while KCR’s illegal assets are worth over one lakh crores.
It remains to be seen whether the Central government will respond to Reddy’s allegations or investigate Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao’s assets. The Congress and BJP will likely continue to contest against each other and strive to win more seats in the upcoming Assembly elections.
