ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists held its annual Florida News Awards ceremony Saturday night in Orlando, celebrating excellence in broadcast and digital journalism across the state.
The gathering at the Rosen Centre honored News4JAX for their impactful stories and community service efforts, with various members of the team recognized for their outstanding work.
Former News4JAX anchor and I-TEAM reporter Vic Micolucci was acknowledged for his 16-year career and now serves as the Vice-President of FABJ. The ceremony also paid tribute to Jason Mealey, a beloved member of the News4JAX team who tragically passed away in April.
The program highlighted several News4JAX projects, including stories that made a difference in the community, investigative reporting, education features, and digital reporting, underscoring the station’s commitment to quality journalism.
The Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists (FABJ) continues to support and recognize journalists’ contributions throughout the state, fostering a spirit of excellence and dedication within the industry.
