Thane Police in Maharashtra caught a 24-year-old man who was wanted in over 50 cases of chain snatching. The accused is a part of the gang known as the Irani gang. The Mira Bhayander-Virar Vasai and Kalyan police collaborated and were able to arrest him on Friday. The police followed the accused after spotting him in a CCTV footage and tracked him to Ambivili. Even though the accused attempted to evade the police by venturing into a forested area, he was eventually caught after a long chase.
As per the official statement, the accused has more than 50 cases of chain snatching registered against him. Currently, he is taken for further inquiry by the MBVV police. The joint effort by the police force led to this significant breakthrough.
