A 54-year-old woman was punched in her face and robbed of her gold ornaments by robbers in an auto on Brigade Millennium Road in JP Nagar Phase 7, early Tuesday morning. The incident happened between 5.15am and 5.30am when R Vasantha was on her morning walk. Of the gang, two robbers got down from the auto, snatched her chain, and punched her face before escaping in the vehicle. The attack left Vasantha with a broken tooth and other dental damage. Fortunately, college students passing by on a bike helped her reach the police station. After registering a complaint, police are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the attackers and bring them to justice.
