CONCORD, N.H. — Market Basket has been ordered to pay a New Hampshire man over $134,000 after a jury found him a victim of age discrimination. Rodney Martinez accused the supermarket chain of violating employment laws by repeatedly passing him over for promotions in favor of younger employees. The jury awarded Martinez lost wages, compensatory damages, and liquidated damages as a result of the discrimination. Market Basket expressed disappointment with the verdict, citing reasons for the delayed promotion. The company is considering whether to appeal the decision.
