Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has stated that the state government is well-equipped to handle all issues in the state, including the anticipated monsoon season. Speaking at a press conference, he assured citizens that the government is ready for sowing and has ample supplies of seeds, fertilizers, and medicines. While acknowledging issues with drinking water in some regions, Siddaramaiah stated that he has instructed local authorities regarding this important concern.

In another meeting with small-scale industry representatives, the Chief Minister promised to review their grievances after the state budget presentation. One of the concerns raised was related to the nine-month electricity tax levied on industries, which is seen as a burden by business owners. Siddaramaiah emphasized that the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) autonomously decides on the annual rate revision, and the government has no control over it.

Regarding the government’s ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme, which distributes rice to the poor, Siddaramaiah shared that the central government had denied rice supply, informing them that it would disrupt the scheme. The state government had requested 2.29 lakh metric tonnes of rice valued at Rs 36.70 but was unable to obtain it. Those who practice hate politics should be called anti-poor, he said.

Siddaramaiah expressed confidence that his government would make a decision soon and called for a tender to procure rice in the open market. He further said that maize and ragi distribution could last up to six months, but this would require an additional three kg of rice per household. The distribution, quantity, and price would be decided in a forthcoming discussion.

To conclude, the Chief Minister has stated that the state government is fully prepared to deal with any problems that the state may face in the near future. He remains committed to serving all members of his constituency, whether citizens or small-scale industries.
