Union Minister Giriraj Singh has mocked the opposition meeting held in Patna, calling it a psychological photo session. In an interview with ANI, Singh sarcastically mentioned RJD leader Lalu Yadav’s suggestion that Rahul Gandhi should get married, saying the meeting was merely a publicity stunt. Singh questioned the purpose of the meeting and added that it was nothing more than a photo session. He also highlighted that the leaders’ actions were irrelevant, and the gathering was merely for show.

Opposition leaders from various parties came together in Patna to discuss a feasible roadmap to defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. However, the Aam Aadmi Party criticized Congress for its refusal to work as a team player on the Delhi ordinance matter, making it challenging for them to be a part of any alliance that includes the Congress party. The event had notable figures like Mamata Banerjee, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Mallikarjun Kharge, who stated that the next meeting of like-minded parties will be held in Shimla next month.

Despite opposition leaders agreeing to fight 2024 elections together, the BJP seems confident that the opposition is not capable of defeating Prime Minister Narendra Modi alone. Union Minister Smriti Irani took a swipe at the opposition meeting, stating that Congress admits they cannot defeat the PM alone and require other parties’ support.

In conclusion, the opposition meeting held in Patna has apparently left the ruling party unimpressed. While the opposition parties have agreed to fight together, it remains unclear if the Congress will act as a team player. The meeting was characterized as a mere publicity stunt by Union Minister Giriraj Singh, and there were allegations regarding Congress’s lack of cooperation. Despite the tension, the parties will meet again in July to prepare for the upcoming polls.
