The actress, 53, is best-known for playing Queen Charlotte in Bridgerton and her own spin-off series, and has also appeared in sci-fi blockbuster Dune.
Now the icon is set to appear in the upcoming series of Doctor Who alongside Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson as the Doctor and companion Ruby Sunday.
It was confirmed on Sunday that Golda will star in episode Space Babies, playing a character called Jocelyn — in the Doctor and Ruby’s first-ever adventure in the Tardis.
Directed by Julie Anne Robinson, the series premiere episode is written by showrunner Russell T Davies.
Russell said it has been ‘amazing to see the whole world appreciate Golda’s talents, because of Bridgerton’.
He added it has ‘been an absolute joy to invite her to Cardiff to help launch Ncuti and Millie’s first season’.
The season premiere will be a double bill, also featuring a second episode starring Jinkx Monsoon.
Her episode will see the Doctor and Ruby head back in time to meet The Beatles at the beginning of their explosive career in the sixties.
Fans don’t have long to wait before the new series ends, with the first episodes dropping on BBC iPlayer and Disney+ at midnight on May 11.
It comes after former showrunner Steven Moffatt was confirmed to be writing an episode in the new series in what the BBC promises will be an ‘explosive’ return.
When the Doctor Who revival began in 2005, it was helmed by Russell, with Steven writing a two-episode arc.
Steven went on to become the head writer and showrunner of the sci-fi BBC series from 2010 until 2017, and played a pivotal role in Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi being cast.
The next series of Doctor Who will begin on May 11 on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
