In a shocking incident in Melbourne’s west last month, a five-year-old boy was the victim of an attempted kidnapping while walking down a street in Footscray. The child was accompanied by a 14-year-old boy when a man approached and tried to pick up the young child. The teenager intervened but was punched in the face by the perpetrator. Fortunately, a neighbor intervened, prompting the man to release the child and flee the scene. The child was unharmed, while the teenager sustained minor injuries. Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect, described as wearing a black beanie, t-shirt, grey pants, and black sneakers. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
