Police in Hayward have arrested a 66-year-old man suspected of fatally stabbing his wife in their apartment Thursday evening. Responding to reports of a woman yelling, officers found the victim with stab wounds at the Cypress Avenue residence. The suspect, Gary Barroga Garcia, fled the scene but later turned himself in to authorities. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Niedenthal. The victim’s identity has not been released, pending notification of family members.
