THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The hemophilia treatment centre at Aluva District Hospital has been recognized by the World Federation of hemophilia for quality data collection and coordination according to the criteria of the World Blood Disorders Registry.
Health minister Veena George said this is a recognition of the activities being done by the state for the treatment of hemophilia patients. The state health department has been engaged in monitoring accurate data of hemophilia patients and coordinates treatment and operations accordingly.
The clinical situation of hemophilia patients is different. Therefore, govt has created a treatment plan that gives importance to individuals. For the first time in the state, a district-wise list of hemophilia patients was prepared. Besides this, ‘Aashadhara’ web portal and mobile app has been set up for the treatment and coordination of hemophilia, thalassemia and sickle cell anaemia patients, she said.
