Police seized an unaccounted cash worth over Rs 24 lakh from three individuals traveling in a car in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district, officials said on Thursday. The incident occurred during a routine vehicle inspection at the South Bypass Junction within the jurisdiction of Ongolu. Bakthavatsala Reddy ( Circle Inspector) mentioned that the individuals were carrying the cash in a bag and claimed it was meant for disbursing salaries to returning workers. However, due to insufficient evidence, the money was seized pending proper documentation. Authorities clarified that the funds may be released upon submission of valid documents or deposited into the government treasury as needed.
