The top leaders of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are reportedly holding marathon meetings to prepare the party for upcoming state polls and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with an emphasis on creating a new generation of leaders. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National President J.P. Nadda, and General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santhosh have met with Sangh members and are believed to be planning to make significant changes in the party’s organisation.

According to sources, the main objective is to develop young leaders who can handle and lead the party in the future. To achieve this, the BJP is reportedly considering inducting new members into the national team. Additionally, the party plans to give a new look to the organisation, with maximum changes expected in the national general secretary category.

The BJP has created new leadership in multiple states, including Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Karnataka, and Gujarat. It aims to do the same in other states such as Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan. However, the party is reportedly not satisfied with the performance of some national general secretaries, and major changes are expected in this category.

The national president of the party’s tenure will end in June 2024, after which the party must choose a new leader. In preparation for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the party will create a new army of leaders, mainly young, to take the reins. The party is looking to nominate one more national vice-president and two national secretaries according to the constitution.

The BJP is reportedly in discussions with the Sangh, and after getting approval from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, changes and new appointments will be announced soon.

The BJP has dominated Indian politics for the last nine years, and with these preparations, the party aims to remain in power for the foreseeable future.
