Chennai’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) has not produced Senthilbalaji, a detained minister, before the Sessions Court. According to a recent news report, Senthilbalaji was not taken into custody by the ED as his doctors had advised against it due to his medical condition. After being granted eight days of custody until June 23, Senthilbalaji was expected to appear before the court through a video conferencing. However, the minister was under observation after undergoing bypass surgery, and the ED was denied access to question him.
On June 17, the ED submitted a memo to the Sessions Court, stating that they were unable to take Senthilbalaji into custody due to medical reasons. After the expiry of police custody on June 23, the ED did not present the minister before the court.
The detained minister’s judicial custody is set to end on June 28, and he is expected to appear before the court via video conference. The ED filed a case against Senthilbalaji under the PMLA, and after his arrest, he was hospitalized due to his medical condition.
The case has been making headlines in local and national news, with many waiting for updates on the situation. Despite the minister’s ill health, the case has continued to move forward, with the ED keen to question him. However, with doctors advising against the detainment of Senthilbalaji, the ED has not taken him into custody.
Though the situation remains challenging, both parties are expected to abide by the court’s orders. This development highlights the importance of respecting an individual’s right to treatment while in detention, regardless of the charges leveled against them. It also highlights the need for a proper protocol for detainees with medical conditions.
Overall, the case has heated up in recent days, and both parties are eagerly waiting for the next court hearing. Experts say that the medical condition of Senthilbalaji plays a crucial role in the case’s outcome, and all parties will need to be sensitive to this issue. In the meantime, the Chennai Sessions Court remains vigilant and focused on justice.
