Google I/O 2024 date has been announced. The event is happening on May 14. We might hear AI-related announcements during the event.

Google has just announced the date of one of its biggest annual events, the Google I/O. This year, the event is happening on May 14 and is expected to hold some key announcements. Even though Google is keeping all details under wraps officially, AI is expected to be a major focus during the event. In addition to this, we might also see the Google Pixel 8a being unveiled.

The Google I/O is an annual event hosted by Google, where developers, technologists, and enthusiasts come together to explore the latest advancements and innovations in Google’s ecosystem. At this event, attendees get an exclusive peek into upcoming technologies, software updates, and breakthroughs across various Google platforms, including Android, Chrome, Google Cloud, and more. From exciting keynote presentations to hands-on workshops and interactive sessions, Google I/O serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration within the tech community.

Like every year, Google had a creative way to announce the date. It urged users to participate in a puzzle to reveal the Google I/O date. However, for those who aren’t interested in going through the 15 puzzles that Google has in store, there is also an option of I’d rather observe. Clicking on the latter will lead you directly to the page where Google is announcing the date for Google I/O 2024. The event will take place at 10:30 pm IST.

This year, the keynote is expected to revolve around AI. Google has been quite invested in the AI space since last year and has also undergone some major changes. Google Search, for instance, now showcases an AI generated summary at top of search results (something which was announced during Google I/O 2023). The tech giant had also shared an update about Google Search recently, saying that it will soon begin filtering AI-generated content and boost original content.

In addition to this, Google’s AI chatbot, Bard, is now Gemini and is also capable of generating images. Gemini was recently under the scanner when it was accused of being racist by some users. Google acknowledged the issue and paused Gemini’s capabilities of generating human figures for some time.

Apart from AI, Google I/O might also give us a glimpse of the much-awaited Google Pixel 8a. The smartphone was confirmed by a Google engineer accidentally a couple of days back.

Apart from this, we might hear about Android 15, as it has been under development for quite some time.

All of this information must be taken with a pinch of salt as Google is yet to reveal any details about what will be announced during the event.
