A judge has moved up the trial date for an Indiana man charged in the slayings of two teenage girls who had gone on a day hike near their hometown. Previously set for October, the jury trial for Richard Allen is now scheduled for May 13 through May 31. The girls, Abigail Williams and Liberty German, were found dead in February 2017 near Delphi, about 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis. Allen, a drugstore pharmacy technician, is facing two counts of murder and has pleaded not guilty. The case faced delays after Allen’s attorneys temporarily withdrew, but the trial is now set to proceed in May.
