A Southridge High School senior is advocating for financial literacy education in high schools across the state of Washington. Ashwin Joshi, the founder of the Ashwin Teen Financial Academy, recognized the need to equip teens with essential money management skills. Joshi’s initiative aims to empower young individuals with knowledge on budgeting, credit building, and investing. Partnering with Representative Skyler Rude, Joshi successfully introduced legislation to integrate financial literacy courses into high school curriculums. Thanks to his efforts, Washington will implement these courses by the 2027/2028 school year, ensuring that every student gains vital financial knowledge for their future.
