Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Assam, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several key development projects. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that PM Modi will kick off the visit by spending time at the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, followed by a packed schedule of events aimed at boosting the state’s infrastructure and healthcare services.
During his visit, PM Modi will launch the Rs 3,992 crores pipeline project from Barauni to Guwahati and oversee the expansion of the Digboi and Guwahati refineries. Additionally, he will inaugurate the Tinsukia Medical College and lay the foundation stone for the Sivasagar Medical College under the PM-DIVINE scheme. The Prime Minister will also address a rally at Meleng Meteli, where he will inaugurate various projects by both the central and state governments.
Furthermore, PM Modi will participate in the house-warming ceremony for 5.5 lakh houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and address a public gathering in Jorhat. To accommodate his visit to Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, certain activities like jeep safaris and elephant rides will be closed temporarily as a safety measure.
