Jindal School of Art & Architecture (JSAA) at O.P. Jindal Global University has announced a unique Dual Degree Architecture Masters program with the University of Adelaide (UoA). The Jindal-Adelaide Architecture Pathway (JAAP) will allow students to receive a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) Built Environment Studies from JGU, a Bachelor of Architectural Design from UoA, and a Master of Architecture from UoA in six years (3+1+2).
The program is offered exclusively to students at JSAA. Those enrolled in Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Built Environment Studies at O.P. Jindal Global University will be able to transfer to the Bachelor of Architectural Design at University of Adelaide after three years at JGU, completing another one year at UoA.
The Jindal Adelaide Architecture Pathway offers several key benefits, including being the only architecture program in India that makes architects eligible for registration across Australia, New Zealand, India, and many other commonwealth countries through reciprocal agreements. Graduating students from the program will be eligible for a minimum three-year post-study work visa in Australia.
The program delivers a global curriculum that blends architectural education and expertise across India and Australia. With faculties from two top-ranking universities, students can meet top architects and designers from India, Australia, and New Zealand and access state-of-the-art facilities in BIM, 3D modelling, Motion Capture, and Rapid Prototyping across JGU and UoA.
Prof. (Dr.) Jaideep Chatterjee, Dean-JSAA said that the Jindal-Adelaide Architecture pathway is an absolute game-changer for the architecture discipline in India. For the first time ever, this remarkable program brings together two highly sought undergraduate architecture degrees and a professional Master of Architecture degree under the same roof. This combination will finally allow students from India to graduate and directly be a part of the global workforce of architects from which they had been long excluded.
Dr. Jessica Gallagher, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement), University of Adelaide welcomed the partnership and stated that it is with great enthusiasm that they have launched this new agreement with OP Jindal Global University. They look forward to continuing to build upon this relationship and welcoming their students to Adelaide in the future.
The Jindal Adelaide Architecture Pathway will equip students with the skills to design and create exceptional buildings and structures and make them eligible for licensure in several countries. The program will also expose students to different perspectives and opinions, maintaining journalistic integrity and presenting a balanced view of the topic. With this program, JSAA and UoA are committed to promoting global experiences for students in the areas of Architecture and Design.
The unique program is part of this path-breaking collaboration between the Jindal School of Art & Architecture (JSAA), O.P. Jindal Global University, and The School of Architecture at the University of Adelaide.
