The Indian state of Chhattisgarh recently organized a motorcycle touring event entitled Dekho Bastar Season 2 – Bastar on Bike to promote tourism in the picturesque Bastar region. The two-day event saw the participation of 60 riders from both Chhattisgarh and neighbouring states. The event was backed by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, the Bastar district administration and various local partner organizations.
Speaking about the event, Kanger Valley National Park Director Dhammshil Ganvir said, It was organized to showcase the natural beauty of Bastar, along with the travel routes, roads and tourist facilities in order to promote tourism. The event followed a carefully planned itinerary which commenced from Jagdalpur and continued on to Kurandi, Gumlawada and Koleng before reaching Tirathgarh on the first day. The next day saw the riders cover more ground as they journeyed from Tirathgarh to the Chitrakot Falls via Dantewada, Barsur and Korlapal.
The picturesque Bastar region is blessed with natural resources and serene beauty which is still largely unexplored. With the Dekho Bastar Season 2 – Bastar on Bike event, the state government of Chhattisgarh hopes to draw attention to the incredible travel opportunities in the region. The event also welcomed the presence of Bastar MP Deepak Baij in the closing ceremony.
Overall, the event proved successful in its objective of promoting tourism in the Bastar region through showcasing the natural beauty and travel routes available. The state government certainly deserves praise for its efforts and hopefully the event will inspire more individuals to explore the rich culture and beauty of the region, thus helping to boost the local economy.
