PM Modi launches multiple development projects worth over Rs 32,000 cr in Jammu
Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], February 20 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects in Jammu, totaling over Rs 32,000 crore. The projects span across education, railway, aviation, and road sectors, aiming to boost infrastructure and connectivity in the region.
During his visit, PM Modi flagged off the first electric train in the valley and initiated the train service between Sangaldan station and Baramulla station. Additionally, he distributed appointment letters to approximately 1,500 new government recruits in Jammu and Kashmir.
The ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu’ program witnessed the Prime Minister interacting with beneficiaries of government schemes, emphasizing inclusive growth and progress for all regions.
Amid tight security, PM Modi was welcomed by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Union minister Jitendra Singh, and other BJP leaders at the Jammu technical airport. Crowds gathered at the Maulana Azad Stadium to witness and celebrate these significant developments.
This visit marks PM Modi’s second trip to Jammu and Kashmir post the abrogation of Article 370, highlighting the government’s commitment to the region’s development. The event holds crucial importance ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and signals a proactive approach towards fulfilling promises made to the people.
The Prime Minister’s presence resonated even more after the recent Supreme Court verdict affirming the validity of the Article 370 abrogation and directing the restoration of statehood along with holding Assembly elections by September 2024. PM Modi’s actions reiterate the government’s determination to propel Jammu and Kashmir towards prosperity and growth.
