Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s threat to pull out of the opposition meeting in Patna if the grand old party doesn’t support the Aam Aadmi Party’s fight against the Centre’s ordinance pertaining to the control of services in the national capital. Dikshit took to Twitter to say, No one will miss him (Kejriwal) if he doesn’t attend the meeting. We always knew that he (Kejriwal) was searching for excuses not to go to this meeting.
Kejriwal has met with various opposition leaders to seek support for the Aam Aadmi Party’s fight against the Centre’s ordinance when it is brought into the Parliament during the monsoon season. The party is depending on the Congress’ support, which has the highest number of Members of Parliament in the upper house of the parliament where the BJP does not have the majority.
The meeting scheduled on Friday is aimed at bringing together like-minded opposition parties against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government at the Centre. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has been spearheading the efforts to unite all the opposition parties against the BJP government at the Centre in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
During the opposition meeting in Patna, the Congress party will have to clarify its stand on the ordinance in front of everyone. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have not given an audience to Kejriwal, who was pushing to put Ordinance on the top agenda during the opposition meeting. AAP sources say that if the Congress party does not support the AAP against the Centre’s ordinance, then the party will walk out of the meeting.
