A Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) personnel was killed by Maoists at a village market in Bijapur district on Sunday.
The incident occurred in a village under Kutru police station limits at around 9:30 a.m. The CAF team was on duty for market security when a small group of Maoists launched an attack on the company commander, Tijau Ram Bhuarya, who was leading the team.
Tragically, Bhuarya, belonging to the 4th battalion of the CAF, was hacked to death with an axe by the assailants before they fled the scene. Upon receiving the alert, a police team rushed to the site and began a search in the area to locate the attackers.
The loss of a dedicated CAF member highlights the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in regions affected by Left-wing extremism. Authorities are intensifying efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of personnel serving in these volatile areas.
Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and colleagues of the fallen CAF personnel during this difficult time.
