Didimi, a London-based startup, has secured €880k in a pre-seed investment round led by deep tech VC the Creator Fund. The funding will be used to expand Didimi’s B2B product offerings in the construction information management sector. Didimi, founded in 2023 as a spin-off from the University of Cambridge, aims to revolutionize information exchange and management in the construction industry.
The platform developed by Didimi allows engineers and designers to seamlessly exchange construction models of any format without losing data. This means information from shared models can be accessed, viewed, and edited by any design software, regardless of the tool used to create it.
Founder and CEO of Didimi, Dr. Kyriakos D. Kantarakias, expressed his mission to transform the way information is exchanged and managed in the construction industry. He highlighted the immense information loss that occurs due to interoperability issues in the current format of model exchanges. Didimi’s platform aims to address this problem and eliminate time waste and mistakes caused by these issues.
The investment from the Creator Fund is a significant endorsement of Didimi’s ambitious vision. The fund believes in backing academic founders from day one, and they are enthusiastic about supporting the talented team at Didimi. The partnership between Didimi and Cambridge University’s Digital Roads of the Future initiative provides a unique opportunity to revolutionize construction workflows.
Professor Ioannis Brilakis, Chief Scientist and Chairman of Didimi, emphasized the need for innovation within the construction industry. He highlighted the large number of talking shops but lack of action, stating that the industry cannot rely on 2% profit margins to drive innovation. Professor Brilakis is proud to work with Didimi to make the full potential of digital twins a reality.
Didimi’s dynamic graph solution offers lossless interoperability as a service to the construction sector. It can link existing sources of information with various authoring tools, setting the foundation for reliable twin systems for the built environment.
The freshly injected capital will enable Didimi to enhance its product offerings and drive the transformation of the construction information management sector. With its innovative platform, Didimi aims to revolutionize the way information is exchanged and managed in the construction industry, ultimately improving efficiency and reducing errors.
