An armed robbers’ gang attacked an ICICI bank located in Bihar’s East Champaran area and made away with a total of ₹18.75 lakh. The incident took place when four robbers forced their entry into the bank around 3pm and held employees captive at gunpoint to steal the cash from counters and the cash chest. Witness accounts suggest that the criminals escaped on two motorbikes after the loot. This is the second such heist to take place in the same ICICI Bank branch in the past few months as an earlier incident saw five armed robbers loot ₹48 lakh from the same branch. The police have initiated an investigation, with a Special Investigation Team set up to catch the culprits and the looted amount has been pegged at ₹18.75 lakh. Meanwhile, police have urged citizens to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to their nearest police station.
