A 24-year-old man lost his life in a tragic incident involving a collision between a dirt bike and a vehicle in the Town of Barre, Orleans County. The driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Noah L. Magee of Brockport, has been arrested and charged with several offenses, including reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident.

The New York State police reported that the incident took place on Thursday around 4 p.m. when they received a call about a crash on McNamar Road. According to the police, Magee was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado east on the wrong side of the road’s north shoulder. In a head-on collision, the vehicle struck a dirt bike that was traveling west on the same shoulder. After the collision, Magee allegedly fled the scene.

Tragically, the dirt bike rider, identified as 24-year-old Roger A. Kingdollar of Holley, was pronounced dead on the scene. Meanwhile, Magee later returned to the scene but without the Chevrolet Silverado. He was apprehended by troopers and subsequently arrested based on the recommendation of the Orleans County District Attorney’s Office.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with New York State police working to determine the exact sequence of events leading up to the collision.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of obeying traffic laws and remaining vigilant while on the road. The local community is left mourning the loss of a young life, and our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Roger A. Kingdollar during this difficult time.
