Arrests Made and Methamphetamine Seized in Nabua Quick Response Team Operation, Northern Division Sees Marijuana Discovery

An early morning intercept by the Nabua Quick Response Team (QRT) resulted in the arrest of two men and two women following the discovery of white substances believed to be methamphetamine. The suspects were apprehended after attempting to flee a roadblock in Vatuwaqa. The intercepted vehicle was later involved in an accident on Brown Street, leading to a search by the Nabua team, who discovered small plastics containing the suspected drugs. The driver, who works in Nadi, a 27-year-old woman from Sabeto, and a 25-year-old man and 26-year-old woman from Suvavou were taken into custody. The substances have been sent for analysis, and the investigation is ongoing. In a separate incident in the Northern Division, a raid in Tacilevu Hills resulted in the seizure of nearly 400 plants believed to be marijuana. Though no arrests were made, the Divisional Police Commander North emphasized the importance of community support in combating illicit drugs. The discovery and seizure of the plants is seen as a positive outcome in efforts to disrupt the sale and distribution of the illegal drug in the area. The involvement of community leaders and individuals who provide information about those involved in the drug trade was acknowledged and appreciated by the police.
