Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Padma Shri Pandwani singer Usha Barle in Durg, Chhattisgarh, as a part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ‘Maha Jansampark Abhiyan.’ Usha Barle received the Padma Shri, the third-highest civilian award, earlier this year for her contribution to the art of Pandwani. She trained under renowned Pandwani singer and Padma Vibhushan Teejanbai and has performed in various states of India and beyond.
During a public meeting in Durg, Shah criticized the Congress for their corruption and claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was transparent and corruption-free. He also credited Modi for securing the country and emphasized the welfare of the poor and India’s progress during Modi’s nine-year rule.
The BJP has been holding events and public meetings across the country as a part of their month-long mega outreach initiative to mark nine years of the NDA government under PM Modi.
