A submersible named Titanic has gone missing close to the site of the infamous Titanic sinking, and a rescue mission is underway. OceanGate, the company owning the submersible, confirmed the vessel is theirs and that a search and retrieval mission is underway to bring back the lost crew safely. The submarine is believed to be 3,800 meters below the surface, and communication systems and safety pings have stopped working, leading to fears about oxygen levels. Five individuals inside the submarine only have a few hours of presumed air supply left, making time the most critical factor in the rescue mission. Numerous international ships and planes, along with various tools, are being used to find the submarine. Sadly, the ship’s captain, CEO of the organization in charge of the voyage, and four others onboard the submersible have not yet been found. The search has already covered 10,000 square miles according to the US Coast Guard.
