Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) has joined forces with St. Louis-based Arsenal Business Growth (ABG) to establish an innovative business venture, creating numerous career opportunities for students. ABG will be located on the second floor of SEMO’s Catapult Creative House in downtown Cape Girardeau, where it will offer a range of full-time, part-time, and internship positions. Specializing in comprehensive business solutions such as sales and video development, ABG’s collaboration with SEMO aims to facilitate growth, expand its reach, and provide SEMO students with a direct pathway to high-quality jobs. Additionally, this partnership will contribute to the economic development of Cape Girardeau.

SEMO Assistant Vice President for Economic and Workforce Development Dan Presson expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, This collaboration between ABG and SEMO presents a unique chance for growth. It not only expands ABG’s reach but also provides SEMO students with a direct pathway to high-quality jobs, while contributing to the economic development of Cape Girardeau.

ABG plans to hire 12 to 20 sales development interns, tailoring these positions to current SEMO students with the potential for them to transition into full-time roles upon graduation. ABG’s owner, Aaron Asher, spoke highly of SEMO graduates, emphasizing their shared values and the impact they have had on his company. He said, Our experience hiring and working with SEMO graduates made this partnership a no-brainer. When we look at our team and search for commonalities and shared experiences among our high performers, we find that many attended SEMO. Our ability to grow is directly related to identifying and signing talented individuals who share our values.

Previously, SEMO collaborated with the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development to establish a Missouri Job Center at Catapult in June. The addition of ABG further solidifies Catapult’s reputation as a hub where students and community members can forge robust career connections.

By partnering with ABG, SEMO is actively enhancing the academic and professional opportunities available to its students. This collaboration not only strengthens the university’s ties with the business community but also empowers students to embark on successful career paths upon graduation. Through purposeful partnerships like these, SEMO continues to reaffirm its commitment to providing a comprehensive and enriching educational experience.

In summary, SEMO’s partnership with ABG at Catapult Creative House signifies an exciting milestone in fostering students’ career development. By offering a multitude of positions, ABG and SEMO are equipping students with valuable employment opportunities, fueling personal growth while bolstering the economic landscape of Cape Girardeau. This collaboration serves as a testament to SEMO’s dedication to preparing students for successful futures and establishing meaningful connections between academia and industry.
