A team of three assessors from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) visited Kohima College on June 20 and 21 for the purpose of conducting the 3rd cycle assessment. The team was led by Prof. Dharmalingam B, dean and faculty of Education, from Alagappa University, College of Engineering in Tamil Nadu. The other members included Prof. KLN Murthy, registrar of Karnataka State Open University, Mysore, and Dr. Gilson John, principal of St. Joseph’s College, Chalakkudy, Kerala.
The college made presentations to the peer team on the first day, accompanied by a tour of the facilities and interactions with various stakeholders, including students, teachers, alumni, and parents. Day two saw the team conducting inspections of the girls and boys hostels, sports facilities, verification of files, and report writing.
The assessment ended with an exit meeting, chaired by the IQAC coordinator Sungjeminla, featuring speeches from Dr. Vitsosie Vüprü, Kohima College Principal, and Prof. Dharmalingam B. In his comments, Prof. Dharmalingam B praised the college for its achievements and former students. He also appreciated the institution’s quality of educational services and holistic development programs.
Finally, the report authors handed their recommendations to the college principal. The meeting concluded with IQAC coordinator’s vote of thanks.
