Ashton Kutcher, the well-known actor and entrepreneur, recently revealed that he battled a rare autoimmune disorder that took away his vision, hearing, and ability to walk. In a sneak peek of an upcoming episode of Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge, Kutcher explained how he developed a form of vasculitis, causing inflammation of the blood vessels.

Kutcher shared his experience, saying, Like two years ago, I had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis that like knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, it knocked out like all my equilibrium. It took me like a year to build it all back up. You don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone.

In the interview, Kutcher expressed his gratitude for still being alive, while Bear Grylls marveled at his resilience. Kutcher also reflected on how he chose to view the challenging situation as an opportunity for personal growth and perseverance. He stated, The minute you start seeing your obstacles as things that are made for you, to give you what you need, then life starts to get fun, right? You start surfing on top of your problems instead of living underneath them.

Fans can catch Kutcher’s episode of Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge at 9 p.m. PST on National Geographic. The show provides a platform for celebrities to encounter thrilling outdoor adventures and share their personal stories.

Last month, Kutcher sat down with The Times alongside B.J. Novak to discuss their latest project, Vengeance. This film marks Kutcher’s return to the marquee in nearly a decade. In the movie, Novak plays Ben Manalowitz, a pretentious writer who embarks on a journey to uncover the truth behind a former romantic partner’s fatal overdose in rural West Texas. There, he encounters Kutcher’s character, Quentin Sellers, a record producer with a cowboy philosophy. The film delves into social media, storytelling, and the growing divide in the United States.

Kutcher revealed that he had been focused on his investment fund and nonprofit work, causing him to lose interest in acting. However, when he read the script for Vengeance, he saw it as an opportunity to portray the current state of America, depicting the perspectives of both coasts and the heartland. He found the project captivating and believed it beautifully captured the polarization prevalent in society.

Ashton Kutcher’s story serves as a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the ability to find strength in the face of adversity. His openness about his struggles with vasculitis sheds light on the challenges individuals with autoimmune disorders face. Through his journey, Kutcher encourages viewers to appreciate their health and embrace obstacles as opportunities for personal growth.

The episode of Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge featuring Ashton Kutcher promises to be an inspiring and captivating watch, providing a deeper insight into the actor’s personal experiences.
