Praising Centre’s interim budget for the 2024-25 presented in Parliament on February 1, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai hailed the budget for paving the way for all-round inclusive development. The Chief Minister emphasized the budget’s focus on empowering the poor, women, youth, and farmers, stating that it aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India’ by 2047.
According to Chief Minister Sai, the budget has successfully lifted 25 crore people out of poverty in the last 10 years, with nearly 1.4 crore youth receiving employment-oriented training. He highlighted that the average real income of Indians has increased by 50 percent during this period, signifying economic progress. He also underscored the budget’s importance in fulfilling Prime Minister Modi’s commitments to the nation.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Shri Sai praised the budget’s special initiatives for special backward tribes and its focus on infrastructure development, social justice, and income enhancement for villagers. He noted that no changes were made to the rates of taxes and import duty. Additionally, the budget includes a provision of an interest-free loan of Rs 75,000 crore for state development.
Chief Minister Sai also highlighted the budget’s efforts towards women empowerment, such as the increased target for the Lakhpati Didi Yojana. He acknowledged the positive impact of government policies on foreign investments and the provision of a one-year tax exemption for startups to stimulate entrepreneurial enthusiasm among the youth.
The Chief Minister further detailed the comprehensive nature of the budget, mentioning initiatives like free electricity for solar panel users, a housing scheme for middle-class families, the inclusion of Asha and Anganwadi workers in the Ayushman Bharat scheme, and the promotion of Nano-DAP usage in various crops. He also mentioned the initiation of cervical cancer vaccination for girls aged 9-14 years.
Highlighting provisions for the fishing sector, Chief Minister Shri Sai referenced the expansion of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana and the establishment of integrated aqua parks. He shared the Center’s target of doubling the number of airports in the next 10 years, with plans for more airports in various locations in Chhattisgarh.
Expressing his views on the budget, Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that it aligns with the motto of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas. He regarded the budget as a step towards realizing India’s development by 2047, commending its inclusion of schemes catering to the welfare of both the middle class and the economically disadvantaged.
The interim budget presented by the Central Government is aimed at fostering inclusive development, bolstering the national economy, and enhancing employment prospects for the youth. With its focus on empowering various sections of society and ensuring social justice, the budget sets the stage for the all-round inclusive development of the country.
