Saban Films Sets Release Date for Michael Keaton Thriller ‘Knox Goes Away’

Saban Films has announced the official U.S. release date for the highly anticipated thriller Knox Goes Away, marking Michael Keaton’s second feature film as a director. The movie, which also stars Al Pacino, James Marsden, Marcia Gay Harden, and more, will make its exclusive debut in theaters nationwide on March 15.

Knox Goes Away had its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival last year and has been garnering significant attention since. Written by Gregory Poirier, known for his work on National Treasure: Book of Secrets, the film follows the story of John Knox, played by Michael Keaton, a hitman who discovers he has dementia and is determined to make amends before it takes over his mind completely. With the help of his trusted friend, portrayed by Al Pacino, Knox races against time and his deteriorating memory to save his estranged son from a deadly mistake.

The thrilling cast also includes Suzy Nakamura, John Hoogenakker, Joanna Kulig, Ray McKinnon, and Lela Loren, adding to the film’s star power. The producers of Knox Goes Away include Trevor Matthews and Nick Gordon from Brookstreet, as well as Michael Sugar and Ashley Zalta from Sugar23. The impressive list of executive producers features industry professionals such as Jonathan Saba, Carter Stanton, Jillian Kay, and many others. FilmNation Entertainment is responsible for handling the international rights of the film.

This project holds special significance for Keaton, as it marks his second stint as a director. He previously directed the 2008 crime thriller The Merry Gentleman, starring alongside Kelly Macdonald and Bobby Cannavale. Apart from Knox Goes Away, Keaton will soon be seen reprising his iconic role as Beetlejuice in Tim Burton’s upcoming Beetlejuice 2. He is also set to appear in the dramedy Goodrich alongside Mila Kunis, Andie MacDowell, and Carmen Ejogo.

Knox Goes Away will face tough competition on its release date, going up against other highly anticipated films. Mark Wahlberg’s Arthur the King, the Rita Moreno-led The Prank, the satirical The American Society of American Negroes from Focus Features, and A24’s Love Lies Bleeding are some of the movies that will also hit theaters on March 15.

With an engaging storyline featuring a star-studded cast, Knox Goes Away is likely to captivate audiences nationwide when it arrives on the big screen. Catch the intense thriller in theaters starting March 15 and witness Michael Keaton’s directorial prowess in this gripping film filled with suspense and emotion.
