The Saudi security forces have demonstrated their readiness to secure this year’s Hajj pilgrimage. The forces showcased their skills and readiness during the Hajj Security Forces Readiness Parade, which took place ahead of the annual mass congregation of Muslims from around the world. The parade included anti-narcotics women soldiers who handled guns and shot at targets. Saudi Interior Minister Abdul Aziz bin Saud and senior security commanders were in attendance.
Chief of General Directorate for Public Security Lt.Gen. Mohammed Al Bassami, who heads a Hajj security committee, reassured the public that the security forces are fully prepared to implement a Hajj-related plan to ensure smooth pilgrimage rites. He stated that the security troops have coordinated with relevant agencies within an integrated system and will be undertaking their assignments in Holy Mecca, sacred sites, Medina, and on all roads leading to Hajj areas.
Al Bassami also revealed that Saudi Arabia has mobilized all available resources to serve the pilgrims, ensure their safety, and utilize artificial intelligence tools and apps to enhance their comfort. The country expects more than 2 million pilgrims during this Hajj season.
Muslims consider Hajj as one of the five pillars of Islam and are required to perform it at least once in their lifetime, if they can physically and financially afford it.
Saudi Arabia has lifted the epidemic-related restrictions on the number of pilgrims from around the world for the upcoming Hajj season. In the past two years, the country implemented restrictions due to COVID-19. The kingdom is committed to ensuring a safe and pleasant experience for all pilgrims who visit their land.
The security forces’ readiness for Hajj has given pilgrims peace of mind knowing that they can carry out their religious duties without any security concerns. The Saudi Arabian government’s preparations and attention to detail ensure that the Hajj pilgrimage offers a safe and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
