The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena of ordering an anti-encroachment drive on a portion of a temple in Mandawali, Delhi, and demanded his removal. The drive, which was previously halted by former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, led to a riot-like situation in the area, escalating into a political conflict between the AAP and the BJP. Delhi PWD Minister Atishi expressed her concerns on the matter, stating that the L-G overruled Sisodia’s disapproval and ordered the demolition of ten temples in Delhi. AAP MLA Naresh Balyan criticised the L-G, claiming that he ordered the demolition of eleven temples in Delhi. To maintain law and order, police personnel and paramilitary forces have been sent to the area, and barricades have been erected around the vicinity. This issue is causing a political stir between the AAP and the BJP.
