The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) has called off the state-wide bandh that was planned for June 22nd after talks with the government. The protest was meant to highlight the abnormal increase in electricity charges by the ESCOMs, which had been a growing concern for eight days. The FKCCI and all district chambers of commerce had attempted to draw the authorities’ attention to the issue, but no solution was found. As a result, they began to plan the Karnataka bandh to bring attention to their concerns, but it was later called off. Only the Hubli KCCI is going ahead with the planned bandh. Despite this, the FKCCI has asked all its associated bodies not to protest or call for a bandh. The FKCCI has stated that they hope the government will respond to their requests and find a solution to the high electricity charges.
