Amplify ETFs Completes Acquisition to Reach $9.1 Billion AUM Across 31 ETFs

CHICAGO – Amplify ETFs, a leading investment firm, has finalized its acquisition of ETF Managers Group (ETFMG) exchange-traded fund (ETF) assets, solidifying its position as a key player in the industry. This acquisition brings Amplify’s total assets under management (AUM) to an impressive $9.1 billion across 31 ETFs, strengthening its unique investor solution set.

We are thrilled to complete this significant acquisition, marking a new chapter for Amplify ETFs, said Christian Magoon, CEO of Amplify ETFs. Amplify has always been committed to providing innovative products that offer access to distinct market segments and investment strategies. The addition of these ETFs aligns perfectly with our product development mandate and allows us to expand our offerings for investors.

By adding ETFMG’s $3.7 billion AUM across 14 ETFs, Amplify ETFs has significantly bolstered its product lineup and expects increased awareness and availability for these newly acquired funds. The company’s strong momentum across national accounts, distribution, and marketing will further amplify the exposure of these ETFs to investors.

Amplify ETFs experienced remarkable growth in 2023, finishing the year with record-high ETF AUM and shares outstanding. With a 36% increase in AUM, outpacing the overall US ETF industry’s growth rate of 26%, Amplify now ranks in the top 13% of ETF sponsors.

Throughout the acquisition process, Amplify ETFs remained committed to its mission of delivering value to investor portfolios. The company also introduced three new ETFs in untapped market areas, further diversifying its offerings and enhancing potential returns.

As part of the acquisition, ETF Managers Capital LLC transferred sponsorship responsibilities for ETF Managers Group Commodity Trust I to Amplify Investments LLC. This includes two series: the Breakwave Dry Bulk Shipping ETF (BDRY) and the Breakwave Tanker Shipping ETF (BWET).

Oppenheimer & Co acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Amplify ETFs for this transaction. The financial terms were not disclosed to the public.

Amplify ETFs, sponsored by Amplify Investments, manages a total of $9.1 billion in assets across its suite of ETFs. The company offers investment opportunities for investors seeking growth, income, and risk-managed strategies through actively managed and index-based ETFs.

Investors are encouraged to thoroughly review the Fund’s investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses before making any investment decisions. The statutory and summary prospectuses can be obtained from AmplifyETFs.com.

As with any investment, there are inherent risks, including the possible loss of principal. ETF shares are bought and sold at market price and may trade at a discount or premium to NAV. Brokerage commissions will impact returns.

Amplify ETFs are distributed by Foreside Fund Services, LLC.

Amplify ETFs’ analysis is based on data from morningstar.com and ETF.com as of January 26, 2024.

In conclusion, Amplify ETFs’ successful completion of the ETF Managers Group acquisition further solidifies its position as a leading player in the industry. With a total AUM of $9.1 billion across 31 ETFs, Amplify ETFs is well-positioned to continue providing innovative investment solutions to meet investor needs.
