Furthermore, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic further exacerbated the situation, resulting in disruptions throughout the education system.
To tackle these challenges head-on, the Ministry of Education has conducted a comprehensive review of the curriculum, ensuring its alignment with the needs of 21st century learners and the demands of the industry. Minister Moyo highlighted the importance of collaboration between various stakeholders, including parents, guardians, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to create an enabling environment for quality education. Moyo firmly addressed school authorities, urging them not to impose unnecessary barriers that hinder access to education, as it is vital to uphold every child’s right to education.
Expressing the government’s dedication, Minister Moyo elaborated, Pursuant to this, the government is dedicated to providing quality education at all levels to equip our learners with the necessary tools and skills for success in an ever-changing global landscape. The focus remains on bridging the gaps and ensuring that every child in Zimbabwe receives the education they deserve.
As the government continues its efforts to revive the education sector, it is evident that collaboration and partnerships with parents, society, and the private sector will play an instrumental role in overcoming the challenges at hand. By working together, they can create an environment that fosters excellence in education and propels Zimbabwean learners toward a successful future.
Despite the obstacles faced, the government remains committed to its objectives of educational reform, teacher development, and adequate resource provision. By addressing these crucial areas, Zimbabwe aims to restore the education sector to its former glory and equip learners with the necessary skills to navigate the ever-evolving global landscape.
