Kottayam: The family of a four-year-old Malayali girl who tragically died in a Bengaluru school is planning to file a complaint with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, urging for swift action in the case. The girl, Gienna Ann Jitto, passed away after sustaining injuries on the school premises. Her grieving grandfather, Tommy Joseph, expressed his disappointment, stating that it is disgraceful to have the main accused in the case, the principal, be a fellow Malayali.
The parents of Gienna had already filed a complaint with the Chief Minister and Education Minister of Karnataka, seeking a thorough investigation into the incident. Hailing from Manimala in Kottayam, the couple works in the IT sector.
The Bengaluru police have registered a case against the school principal, Thomas Cherian, who is originally from Kottayam, along with another employee. The preliminary investigation is underway.
According to the school authorities, Gienna injured herself by hitting her head on a wall while playing at Delhi Pre School in Chelekare, Bangalore, on Monday afternoon. By the time her parents arrived at the school, she had been rushed to the hospital.
Relatives of the child claim that medical professionals determined she suffered critical injuries from a fall. They suspect that Gienna may have fallen from the second-floor terrace. Unfortunately, the CCTV footage from those particular days is unavailable since the school camera was not functioning.
The tragic incident has left the family devastated, seeking justice for the untimely loss of their beloved child. Their decision to involve the Chief Minister underscores the urgency they feel in obtaining a resolution to this heartbreaking case. As the investigation continues, the family hopes that the responsible parties will be held accountable for the tragic outcome.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety measures and vigilance within schools. Both parents and authorities must remain committed to ensuring the well-being and protection of every child in educational institutions.
