South American football writer Jorge Barraza stoked the debate by claiming Estupinan was the joint-best left-back in the world, alongside Canada and Bayern Munich’s Alphonse Davies. However, not all football fans agreed, with some suggesting Milan’s Theo Hernandez or Inter’s Federico Dimarco were better candidates. Meanwhile, Albion supporters will be hoping to keep hold of Estupinan and teammate Moises Caicedo, who are both tipped for future moves to top clubs.
