New Delhi, Jan 26 – The Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory for the Beating Retreat ceremony scheduled to take place at Vijay Chowk on Monday. In order to ensure smooth traffic flow and security during the event, elaborate traffic arrangements have been made, according to officials.
The Beating Retreat ceremony, which signifies the formal conclusion of the Republic Day celebrations, is a highly anticipated event. To facilitate the ceremony and ensure the safety of attendees, the Delhi Police has implemented certain traffic restrictions.

The advisory stated that traffic will not be allowed on Rafi Marg between Sunehri Masjid roundabout and Krishi Bhawan roundabout, Raisina Road from Krishi Bhawan roundabout towards Vijay Chowk, beyond Dara Shikoh roundabout, Krishna Menon Marg roundabout and Sunehri Masjid towards Vijay Chowk. Additionally, Kartavya Path between Vijay Chowk and ‘C’ hexagon will also have restricted traffic.
To minimize inconvenience for commuters, alternative routes have been suggested. These include Ring Road, Ridge Road, Aurobindo Marg, Madrasa T-Point, Lodhi Road, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Rani Jhansi Road, and Minto Road.
In order to accommodate the vehicles of invitees and spectators and to prevent traffic congestion, buses will be diverted from their regular routes between 2 pm and 9.30 pm on Monday. The advisory also mentioned that parking will be available for those who wish to witness the illumination at Vijay Chowk.
